Pupils should keep a change of clothes at school, at all times, for PE, drama and games. Trainers may be used for outdoor games. In colder months, plain tracksuits may be worn. A draw string bag is the easiest method of storage.
Jewellery and Make-Up
On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are earring studs in pierced ears and a watch. Children must remove these items during PE and games to prevent them from causing injury. Staff are not allowed to tape earrings or help children remove them. However, children will be allowed to put tape on their ears if their ears have recently been pierced. No make-up or nail varnish should be worn in school; pupils will be asked to remove it.
Extreme Hairstyles
The school discourages children to have extreme haircuts that are not in keeping with the ethos of the school or that could serve as a distraction to other children. This includes patterns shaved into the hair, and very closely shaved hair, excessive use of hair products and false hair. The definition of an extreme hairstyle is at the discretion of the Headteacher.
Lost Property
It is the child's responsibility to look after their clothing during the school day and especially at PE time. We always endeavour to reunite children with any items found around the school, and encourage the children to take care of their own property. We ask that all items of your child's clothing are labelled clearly with their name so that any clothing can be returned to them.
