School Business Manager

The Unitas Collaboration of schools is a new and innovative Swale based collaboration of four primary schools that is looking to recruit an exceptional professional to manage all aspects of the financial and business services for the collaboration. The successful applicant will oversee the school’s finances, personnel, contracts and premises, including health and safety processes and procedures.
You will be the line manager for the developing administration and facilities teams across the schools and will be required to offer comprehensive and strategic support to the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership team. The role requires flexibility, tact and problem solving on a daily basis. Therefore it is essential that you are professional, approachable and a very effective communicator.
You will also need a relevant qualification as detailed in the person specification. Previous experience of FMS6 and KCC Budget Planning Software would be preferable but not essential.
This is very much a strategic role that will influence practice, ensure accountability and contribute to school development and improvement. You must be able to prioritise, prepare action plans and implement systems and structures to support smart working. Your approach and skill in managing change effectively will be a key to success.
You will need to be able to demonstrate:
- the collaboration’s core values
- relevant professional qualifications and business acumen
- strong financial and administrative background, with proven track record of financial and administrative management
- ability to identify areas for cost savings and be able to negotiate and broker deals for the collaboration
- evidence of successful management of a diverse team
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines
- high standards to do a really good job at all times
- flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude.
You will be supported through appropriate continuous professional development and training, an emerging coaching ethos across the collaboration and a highly supportive Senior Leadership and governing body team
