Parents’ Comments
Bredgar CEP School values the opportunity to co-educate children with their parents and families. Fostering a good working relationship between staff and parents is an important contributor to ensuring every child reaches their potential.
Sharing information about your child
Staff are available before school for a brief sharing of information that may affect the school day ahead, such as if your child hasn’t slept well or appear to be worrying about something. To seek advice or to talk through other queries, the school encourages parents to make an appointment to meet with the relevant member of staff by contacting the school office. To ensure that enough time is available for a full discussion, these appointments are usually made for after the end of the school day.
Working in partnership to further enhance Bredgar CEP School
Parental Questionnaires are used throughout the year to gather the views of parents.
Each term, a Parent Focus Forum meeting is held to which all parents are invited. The purpose of the meeting is for parents to share their suggestions, ideas and comments about the school in general. The meeting is coordinated by two Bredgar CEP School Governors and Mr. Whitehead or Mrs. Gower join the meeting later to hear some of the points made. In the following weeks, a response to the points raised during the meeting are included on the school’s newsletter.
In order to make it possible for all parents to attend at least one of these meetings a year, the day and timing of the meetings is varied, with at least one being held in the evening. Most year groups have a class rep: Bears – Savannah’s mum, Year 1 – Jasmine’s dad, Year 3 – Molly’s mum, Year 5 – Leo’s mum, Year 6 – Madi’s mum. You can ask them to pass on your thoughts at the meeting.
Alternatively, you can use the Parent Focus Forum Suggestion and Compliment Form which can then be posted in the Parent Focus Forum letterbox in the school’s reception area outside the school office. All contributions will be taken to the next Parent Focus Forum meeting.
Concerns about your child or about the school.
Concerns about your child or about the school will be dealt with as a matter of urgency. Please make an appointment to see your child’s class teacher or Mrs. Gower via the school office. The school aims to resolve any difficulties through working in partnership with parents.
